Our Story — Rough Russian Cafe
Rough Russian Cafe is a quiet European-style café corner tucked inside Roman Russian Market at 10918 SE Division St, Portland, Oregon. The café was built on the spirit of Raf coffee — a smooth, sweet espresso drink blended with cream that originated in Moscow — and grew into a neighborhood gathering place for Eastern European comfort food, fresh-baked pastries, handmade cakes, and craft fruit teas.
The café sits within Roman Russian Market, a full-service Eastern European grocery store and deli. Guests can enjoy café drinks and food while browsing imported goods, cheeses, and cured meats from Russia, Ukraine, and across Eastern Europe.
The menu reflects the food traditions of the owners' heritage: Syrniki (cottage cheese pancakes), Blinchiki (sweet cheese crêpes), Medovik honey cake, Napoleon cake, Turkish Pide, and an extensive selection of craft fruit teas made with whole berries.
